The Game Fair celebrates its 60th Anniversary in 2018 when it returns to the familiar surroundings of Ragley Hall from 27-29 July. As plans accelerate and excitement builds, The Game Fair and Time Inc. UK announce a repeat partnership for 2018. The partnership spans a variety of media within the Time Inc. UK portfolio, including both print and digital, as well as special offers to readers and subscribers. Titles including Country Life, The Field, Shooting Times, Shooting Gazette and Sporting Gun will once again become part of the fabric of the event.
Iconic brand, The Field, who celebrate their 165th Anniversary in 2018, will continue their involvement in the cookery theatre. Following the success of The Field Kitchen Theatre, the partnership will grow with emphasis on game cookery, provenance, and the role of fieldsports within a sustainable countryside. Deputy Editor of The Field Alexandra Henton said ‘The sporting world is intrinsically linked to what we eat and how we eat it. Field readers are particularly discerning. The Field Kitchen Theatre is wonderful exposure for the fur, feather and fin our countryside has to offer.’
Gemma Payne, Head of Marketing at The Game Fair added ‘The vision for The Field Kitchen Theatre worked beautifully in 2017. Such was its success we will be increasing the capacity and focusing on new and exciting content. As a nod to our 60th Anniversary, expect heritage recipes and dishes from a bygone age. You won’t see this at any other regional game fair.’
Shooting Times are injecting a bit of fun and some healthy competition in to their new sponsorship of the terrier racing. Shooting Times Editor, Patrick Galbraith said ‘This is a natural fit for us. Get your dogs in training, the races will be hotly contested!’ In addition, Shooting Times will showcase new products in a special supplement.
Popular Weekly, Country Life also return to celebrate the 60th Anniversary in style. All titles will be contributing archive pieces including photographs and coverage in to The Game Fair Museum, an addition to the 2018 event. The Museum will be curated by a well know personality and will feature product comparisons and a journey of fieldsports through the ages.
James Gower, The Game Fair Managing Director said ‘Positivity has been felt throughout the industry and as is traditional, many exhibitors have already signed up for The Game Fair 2018 at Ragley Hall. We are looking forward to nurturing the relationship we have developed over the past year with Time Inc. UK. Their readers continue to be at the beating heart of the fieldsports fraternity, echoed within The Game Fair community as a whole.’
