5 MINUTES WITH SPORTSMAN GUN CENTRE

How important is The Game Fair in attracting new customers to Sportsman Gun Centre?
The Game Fair is an ideal way of introducing the next generation of country and country sports enthusiasts. This introduction could be via the gundog section and being amazed at the beauty and the artistry of the commands and controls, dove tailed with the dogs natural instincts proving that man and beast can and do work in unison. It could be having a go with an air rifle for the first time. The joy of knocking down targets and the accomplishment of being able to master accuracy and the challenges presented. It could be the beauty of the engraved guns and their true unique artistry.  Maybe you’re looking for food and the benefits the countryside brings – Wild game and the organic nature and benefits this brings to us all, be it nutritional or environmental. The Game Fair is the largest event of this type in the UK – it is vital.

What would you say to wholesalers looking to support their retailers at The Game Fair?
TGF and its continuation is imperative to supporting the industry we all work in and get paid by. Never has there been so many attacks on our way of life, nor our livelihoods. Never has there been more reason to pull together as one voice, one body and at one venue to join collectively and showcase what we as individuals (but most importantly what we as the industry behind it) proudly stand for.

How important do you feel The Game Fair is as an event – both to the trade and the wider shooting community?
The Game Fair is THE unique showcase for  ALL different walks of country life. It is for us to celebrate our culture, to enshrine our beliefs, communicate our histories and all jointly invest in the future. To encourage debate and to work collectively through all aspects of rural life to deliver a better, safer and enjoyable rural future for all.

How important is the role of The GTA and other associations in supporting both The Game Fair and the industry in promoting fieldsports?
The GTA should be pulling ALL aspects of the UK gun trade to the The Game Fair. It is their personal responsibility to be at the forefront of ANY mass gathering of shooting and hunting enthusiasts. I believe it is their role to cohesively enthuse and energise ALL members of the UK Gun Trade Association to support The Game Fair – the largest attended rural show in the UK. The Game Fair is the ideal launch pad to promote, to empower, and most importantly to communicate the positives of what the UK gun trade stands for.
