Whether you want to see the latest tackle, get some tips from the experts, watch the biggest names in the sport demonstrating their skills or simply cast a line (and catch a fish) then the Fishing Village is for you.
Fresh from a rebirth in 2017, the popular Fishing Village will once again be a major part of The Game Fair at Ragley Hall.
Set in stunning surroundings within the main show, the village will include two casting pools for demonstrations from names such as Charles Jardine, Hywel Morgan, Scott MacKenzie, Marina Gibson, James Stokoe and many more.
Rumours are rife that there may even be a lure tank on site, where you can watch predators like pike and perch and see their reaction to various lures from top manufacturers.
You will be able to see the latest tackle from big brands and then buy it from major retailers. Or spend some time watching the mesmeric tying demonstrations in our Fishing Shopping Centre, set to house a number of fly and material suppliers.
If that whets your appetite to wet a line then head over to Ragley Hall’s picturesque lake where you can have a go yourself and pick up some tips from the coarse fishing instructors with National Fishing Month or from the Game Angling Instructors Association (GAIA). With a well-stocked lake, there’s sure to be plenty caught during the weekend.
Alternatively, you can watch or even take part in one of the single-handed or Spey-casting distance competitions, run by the British Fly Casting Club. With the World Championships set to take place the following month, there’s a good chance some of the best casters on the planet will be in attendance.
